The Simple Summer Dress by Love From Lola is a quick and easy beginner friendly pattern. This fully lined shift dress ties at the shoulders with ribbons. It uses very little fabric – with a fat quarter or some cute scraps plus a bit of ribbon, you will soon be dressing your doll in a sweet new sundress with a ruffled hem. You can choose to use lace instead of fabric for the ruffle or to add rickrack or other trim above the ruffle. There is also room to express your creativity on the front of the dress with embroidery, appliqué, iron-on transfers, etc.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 14-15 dolls such as Hearts for Hearts Girls®, Ruby Red Fashion Friends™, and WellieWishers™.
This pattern is also available for 18 dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: A light to mid weight woven cotton.
Supplies Needed:
- 1 4 yard fabric – A fat quarter can make 2 dresses!
- 24 inches of ribbon (for ties) 3 8 inch wide or narrower works best
- 10 inches rick rack or other trim (Optional)
- 10 1 2 inches of lace (Optional hem finish)
